In collaboration with our friends at Latin School, 4th grade students participated in a collaborative project and artist talk led by local artist Indira Freitas Johnson.  Johnson discussed the power of public art and led students in a collaborative project inspired by the powerful words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Every Spring 3rd grade students learn all about Chicago! In this rich unit of study students explore the history, environment, and people of Chicago.  Students also explore architecture through building their own city and creating their own Louis Sullivan inspired clay tiles.

Adaptive Designs Furniture

In this incredible project led by Ms. Kerry and Adaptive Design Inc middle school students learned the fundamentals of cardboard construction and created multiple kneeling boxes, benches, stools, and wheelchair trays for our students with special needs to gain more access to our outdoor garden beds.

Balloons Over Broadway

Inspired by the book Balloons Over Broadway  by Melissa Sweet, Ms. Adler's second grade students studied the construction of balloons and created their own larger than life balloon creations.  We (students and teachers alike) also learned that it takes a lot of helium to make a balloon float!
